This course focuses on data-driven decision-making, critical thinking, and strategic communication in a business context. It strengthened my ability to analyze information, apply insights to real-world situations, and present ideas in a clear, creative, and professional way.
MKT 3010-Principles of Marketing
This course covers the core principles of marketing, including how businesses plan, price, promote, and distribute goods and services to meet customer needs. It gave me a strong foundation in strategic marketing, consumer behavior, and positioning, and helped me understand how the marketing mix works together to create value and connect with target audiences.
MKT 3020- Consumer Behavior
This course examines consumer behavior by analyzing when, why, how, and where people choose to purchase products and services, with a focus on the psychological, social, and cultural factors that shape decision-making. It deepened my understanding of what drives consumer value and showed me how these insights can be applied to create more effective marketing strategies and customer experiences.
International Businesses Courses
MGT 3030- Global Business
This course explores the global business environment and the institutional differences that shape how companies operate across countries, with an emphasis on international trade, foreign direct investment, and global integration. It strengthened my understanding of how economic, political, and cultural factors influence business strategy and enhanced my ability to think critically about the responsibilities companies have to stakeholders worldwide.
LAIB 4000- Language and International Business
This course requires the completion of a supervised international internship, allowing students to apply their business and language skills in a professional setting. Through this experience, I gained hands-on exposure to cross-cultural communication, global business practices, and professional collaboration. Writing the final report in my target language strengthened my ability to reflect on and present my experience in a bilingual, professional context.
MKT 4270-International Marketing
This course examines marketing from an international perspective, emphasizing how strategies must be adapted to fit different economic, cultural, political, and environmental conditions. It strengthened my ability to evaluate global market differences and develop flexible marketing approaches for diverse international audiences.
ECON 3100-International Economics
This course analyzes how countries interact through trade, finance, and policy in the global economy, covering topics such as comparative advantage, exchange rates, trade models, and international capital flows. SPAN 3160- Spanish for International Business I
This course focuses on developing strong business writing through frequent compositions, grammar review, and the use of key business vocabulary and concepts. It improved my ability to write clearly, professionally, and accurately while strengthening my confidence in communicating ideas effectively in a business context.
SPAN 3050-Intermediate Spanish Conversation and Composition I
This course emphasizes the development of spoken Spanish through practice in vocabulary, pronunciation, intonation, and listening comprehension, along with supporting written and lab work. It strengthened my fluency, accuracy, and confidence in real conversations, helping me communicate more comfortably in both professional and everyday settings.
SPAN 4160-Spanish for International Business II
This course builds on commercial Spanish by introducing advanced business vocabulary and exploring the cultural, social, political, and economic environments of Hispanic markets.
